I’m an economist based in Prague. I’m Head of Research at the Tax Justice Network, Assistant Professor at the Centre for Public Finance, Institute of Economic Studies, Charles University, and a Research Fellow at the International Tax Observatory. My research looks at how multinational corporations and wealthy individuals use tax havens and financial secrecy, and what governments can do about it. I work mainly with administrative microdata: country-by-country reports, corporate tax returns and customs records. To make this kind of work easier, I founded the Admin Data for Tax Justice initiative, a network of researchers and tax administrations across Europe and Africa. I teach public economics, public choice and principles of economics at Charles University.
